Kanebo - Gentle Eye and Lip Makeup Remover

Finding a 'good' eye makeup remover is hard for me. Why? Because of how sensitive my eyes are. My eyes easily get swollen, red or puffy if I use the wrong product. Anyone else like that? I usually end up getting a high end eye makeup remover because they are a lot better for my skin. Currently, I've been using the Kanebo Sensai silky purifying makeup remover for eyes and lips.* I am new to this particular brand and was pretty intrigued by it.

Kanebo is a Japanese brand that is available in Harrods. They do a range of skincare as well as bath and body products and also cosmetics all of which sound really beautiful. I love the concept behind this skincare. Their products contain 'Kaishimaru silk' which is a precious silk found in Japan, also known as the 'silk of the silks'. This silk actually aids the production of  Hyaluronic acid which is known for keeping our skin supple, hydrated and healthy.
The product comes in a clear bottle which actually looks really nice. The makeup remover is clear and fragrance free which I personally was happy about as products that have a scent to it sometimes don't suit people with sensitive skin. I use a few drops on a cotton pad and wipe away any eye makeup I may have on. It has 'silky' written on the bottle and when I used this for the first time the word silky came to my mind immediately. The texture is almost 'soft' in a way as well as having a very silky touch to it. It's quite nice! I've also used this with mascaras that I always have trouble getting off and I am glad to tell you that this works. It's like an oil based makeup remover which is why it also takes off waterproof mascara. I love that it's also a lip makeup remover. I have a few liquid lipsticks that satin my lips really bad (really pigmented!). I used this Kanebo makeup remover and it wiped away every little bit of the product in just one swipe. I am really impressed by this. And most importantly it's very gentle to the eye area just as it claims to be! I wouldn't ever say this about an eye makeup remover but this feels really luxurious once you start using it. I haven't touched any other eye makeup removers besides this one. It's quick and easy and does the job really very well. It's also going to last me a while as I need just a few drops per cotton pad (I use only 2).

Have you ever tried Kanebo's eye and lip makeup remover?

  1. This sounds like a lovely product! I use Bioderma to remove all of my makeup, rather than a specific eye and lip product. xx
