I may just have a new favourite blusher. A new love. Oh and have I mentioned I may have found a MAC Stereo Rose dupe? Yes the famous Stereo Rose that was sold out twice. But fear not I have found something equivalent to it (maybe a little better!)!
Proto-col's baked mineral shimmer in Apricot Swirl (£27.95)* is one beautiful blush.
This is a stunning apricot/peach colour like the name suggests and is a baked mineral product which is a good aspect for your skin. The texture of this product is very smooth and soft and this helps it to blend beautifully and easily It's a very warm toned product that gives your skin a luminous finish because of the shimmer to it.You get a gorgeous glow and has a warm golden undertone to it. The packaging is beautiful. It's a round chrome compact with a mirror inside it which looks very high-end. You can actually use this product on your eyes as well as your lips to add a touch of warm shimmer. It looks stunning on the eyes too. Apricot Swirl is pigmented so beautifully. You literally need to tap the brush and apply. A little goes a long way.
The Dupe Test
I personally think this is very close dupe to MAC's Stereo Rose. The only difference their is, is that in the pan, Stereo Rose has bronze veining and Apricot Swirl doesn't. In the swatches stereo rose looks a little more bronze and warmer than apricot swirl which looks a little pink toned but I am telling you, once you apply it, it's the same. I wore both of these at the same time and you couldn't tell the difference at all. the packaging of Proto-col in my opinion is far better than MAC's. It looks alot more sleek and the fact that it's not plastic.
I actually prefer apricot swirl over stereo rose. I know. I said it. As much as I adore and love stereo rose, I have been reaching for apricot swirl alot and actually prefer that. The texture of it is almost identical to MAC's as well. It costs a bit but I think it's completely worth it. This is a luxury product that has amazing quality and I know it will last me a very very long time.
I would love to know your thoughts on this gorgeous product!
Do you think this is a close dupe?

ReplyDeleteSame. I am new to it as well but very impressed by the quality! x
Deletethey do look quite similiar. considering the price similarities also, I'd probably end up just going for the MAC one as I've never heard of 'Proto-col' before. But then again, I'm interested in giving it a whirl. so ahh.x
ReplyDeleteYou should try this. I prefer this than the mac. Stereo rose was limited edition so not sure if you can get it but do look into this :) xx
Deleteyou sure did find a dupe, but its kinda expensive too! good job nevertheless :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, it's near the same price range as the MAC one. I'll try to find a drugstore dupe soon! x

Yeah it is slightly cooler because it doesn't have a bronze undertone. Though once you apply it, it's literally the same! You better! xx
DeleteGreat find, going to check out that brand now as I've never heard of it! X
ReplyDeleteLet me know if you pick something out! Very impressed by the brand. xx
DeleteLove the packaging of this with the mirror in the lid. So close to stereo rose too, although I think I prefer this one? xx
ReplyDeleteSame. Such great packaging. I do too! Even though they are literally the same this one has a better finish xx
DeleteNice find. I've not heard of Proto-col before but I'll definitely have a look at what they offer.
