Proto-col Baked Shimmer in Apricot Swirl - Stereo Rose Dupe?!

Hey guys,
I may just have a new favourite blusher. A new love. Oh and have I mentioned I may have found a MAC Stereo Rose dupe? Yes the famous Stereo Rose that was sold out twice. But fear not I have found something equivalent to it (maybe a little better!)!
Proto-col's baked mineral shimmer in Apricot Swirl (£27.95)* is one beautiful blush.
This is a stunning apricot/peach colour like the name suggests and is a baked mineral product which is a good aspect for your skin. The texture of this product is very smooth and soft and this helps it to blend beautifully and easily  It's a very warm toned product that gives your skin a luminous finish because of the shimmer to it.You get a gorgeous glow and has a warm golden undertone to it. The packaging is beautiful. It's a round chrome compact with a mirror inside it which looks very high-end. You can actually use this product on your eyes as well as your lips to add a touch of warm shimmer. It looks stunning on the eyes too. Apricot Swirl is pigmented so beautifully. You literally need to tap the brush and apply. A little goes a long way.

The Dupe Test

I personally think this is very close dupe to MAC's Stereo Rose. The only difference their is, is that in the pan, Stereo Rose has bronze veining and Apricot Swirl doesn't. In the swatches stereo rose looks a little more bronze and warmer than apricot swirl which looks a little pink toned but I am telling you, once you apply it, it's the same. I wore both of these at the same time and you couldn't tell the difference at all. the packaging of Proto-col in my opinion is far better than MAC's. It looks alot more sleek and the fact that it's not plastic.

I actually prefer apricot swirl over stereo rose. I know. I said it. As much as I adore and love stereo rose, I have been reaching for apricot swirl alot and actually prefer that. The texture of it is almost identical to MAC's as well. It costs a bit but I think it's completely worth it. This is a luxury product that has amazing quality and I know it will last me a very very long time.

I would love to know your thoughts on this gorgeous product!
Do you think this is a close dupe?

  3. they do look quite similiar. considering the price similarities also, I'd probably end up just going for the MAC one as I've never heard of 'Proto-col' before. But then again, I'm interested in giving it a whirl. so ahh.x

    1. Yeah it is slightly cooler because it doesn't have a bronze undertone. Though once you apply it, it's literally the same! You better! xx
