Hair Oil Series - Mustard Oil

Hi guys,
So this is the second hair oil in the hair oil series and my absolute favorite! I can not live without this.
I am actually so glad that so many of you liked the first hair oil post I did on Olive oil because I honestly didn't know how it would go down. So Thankyou for all your lovely comments on this blog and on twitter!

absolutely LOVE mustard oil for my hair. It does amazing things. Here are some facts that I know about mustard oil. Mustard oil will help reduce hair falling or thinning, dryness and dandruff. It will nourish your hair and scalp as well as bring shine to it. If you want to grow your hair and make it thicker and strengthen it, I highly recommend you to give this a go.

Mustard seed oil is filled with vitamins and minerals such as zinc, selenium, and beta carotene. Beta carotene is actually something that converts to vitamin A, which is excellent in stimulating hair growth and nourishment. If there is a lack of zinc and selenium in your body, hair loss or hair falling is much likely to appear.
The mustard seeds (where the oil comes from) contain antioxidants which is what promotes hair growth. Besides that, this oil also has a high level of omega 3 fatty acids, vitamin E, iron, calcium, and a little bit of magnesium. This is another thing that helps condition, strengthen and stimulate hair growth no matter what hair type you are.

Mustard oil also promotes blood circulation and this is also linked to hair growth.  Mustard oil is a hair stimulant, meaning it causes hair to grow healthier at a faster rate. It actually also prevents gray hair. If you guys start using it now regularly your hair will probably stay your own hair colour for a long time!

How to use mustard oil

I use it on dry hair twice a week. Take a little out and warm it up for 30 seconds to reduce its thickness and bring to room temperature. Massage into your hair and scalp about an or two before you shampoo or leave it over night but cover with a shower cap because it will stain your bedding. After some hours shampoo the oil out and don't use conditioner because trust me this is your ultimate conditioner! You can do it once a week or twice or even 3-4 times if you're suffering from hair loss.

I can not recommend this enough! The only downside to it is that the smell is very strong (quite a spicy smell). I personally don't like but I don't even care about that. Yes it smells odd and yes it's fairly thick so a little more greasy than usual oils but if you want instant results forget about that and just try it. And by instant, I mean the day you wash your hair! Instant shine and strength. To be honest once you shampoo the smell and the all the oil will be completely out. I recommend shampooing twice in-order to get rid of it all.
I have been using this since since my childhood and so has the majority of my family! haha We all hair quite thick hair and hair that grows really fast.

You can purchase a bottle of mustard oil mainly from Indian shops but I know that Tesco also has it as well as Amazon and it doesn't cost more than £2 for a huge bottle! Love this and let me know if you have used it before :)

  14. Great review here.Dandruff is dry scalp, persoanlly, I fought it from the inside and out. I input more healthy oils in my diet like olive oil and coconut oil. Regarding thinning hair and brittle nails, Reloxe is a product that I bought to help with hair loss.
